At any time and in a simple way, we publish on the internet various information concerning your child and our school.
In complete security, thanks to a login and a password (given to your child at the beginning of the year by the main teacher) you, and only you, can access the information concerning your children: their grades, their report cards, their timetables, their absences, etc.
To take advantage of these services, click on the PRONOTE logo above, and you will go directly to the PARENTS’ area. You will then be asked to enter your login and password. If you need help, do not hesitate to contact us.

Charity Partners
Peter McVerry Trust has been responding to the needs of people affected by homelessness since 1983. The charity has developed a range of services to tackle homelessness, drug misuse and social disadvantage.
BUMBLEance is the official Children’s National Ambulance Service of Ireland, providing safe and comfortable transportation for children travelling between their homes and hospitals, hospices, treatment centres, and respite centres nationwide. The BUMBLEance service has all the amenities of a standard ambulance but it includes the all-important extras to make a sick child’s journey as safe, comfortable and entertaining as possible.
Barretstown runs residential camps and programmes for children and their families affected by cancer and serious illness, offering a range of adventurous, fun and challenging activities which are supported behind the scenes by 24 hour on site medical and nursing care.
Health
Here we try to deal with some of the questions which arise around health issues. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any particular concerns.
- Taking medicine: The school is not competent to administer medicine to children, whether it be painkillers, creams or other remedies. If your child has to take prescription medicines during school time, we need to have the prescription and your written authorisation to administer them.
- When your child should stay at home: Out of respect for your child’s welfare and for the rest of the school community, you should keep your child at home if he or she is not feeling well. This is particularly important in the case of contagious diseases, such as conjunctivitis or gastroenteritis. Your child should be kept at home until he or she is no longer contagious. Children have the right to be sick and, when they are, they have the right to proper rest which the school cannot give them.
- When your child gets sick in school: The only treatment which the teachers can give, if it is possible, is to separate the child from the others so that he or she can rest. We contact the family who must come and collect the sick child (hence the importance of the telephone number on the pupil information forms).
Programme of vaccinations: school health screenings are conducted by public health nurses and area medical officers who are employed by the Health Service Executive (HSE). These screenings are carried out on the school premises and the school is told of the date of the screenings in advance so that parents can be notified and are entitled to be present if they wish. Children’s hearing and vision are examined and, where requested by the parent or deemed necessary, a physical examination may be carried out. Free dental checks are also organised through the school. With the parents’ consent, the 4 in 1 (diphtheria, tetanus, whooping cough (pertussis) and polio), plus MMR (measles, mumps and rubella) vaccine is administered in school when the children are 4 to 5 years old. Again, the school will be told of the date in advance so that parents’ consent can be sought and parents can be present if they wish.
